Really Useful Free Tools For More Income

Do you feel like you just don’t have enough time to work on your Internet marketing business?

Are you feeling on some days that you are not achieving what you set out to do each day, because of distractions and wasting time on non-productive work like surfing the net and reading emails that don’t matter?

It’s simple maths:

More planning = More PRODUCTIVE work done = More income

Do ONLY the work that matters, that will make a big difference in your bottom line, meaning MORE MONEY!

Don’t just be BUSY, be PRODUCTIVE!

I used to suffer a lot from these feelings of ‘ineffectiveness’, even though I had 3 full time freelancers working for me. I guess it must be worse for some of you working part-time on your online business.

I needed to keep my income at the mid 5-figure level every month, and thankfully I have.

For example, some traffic building and marketing tasks need to be done on a regular basis, like writing articles, submitting them, social bookmarking, signing up new Web 2.0 accounts and posting content, blog post updating, checking on my PPC Campaigns, looking for new affiliate products to promote etc.

Without a systematic way, these activities fall through the cracks, gets done haphazardly, or never at all.

Talk about frustration!

So instead of fretting, I looked for tools that will help me achieve more in lesser time.

I now use several tools that will help me achieve my daily objectives, and I would like to share with you two of them.

Both are free.

1) Mozilla Sunbird

I started using this software about a year ago, and it has helped me organize my daily and weekly tasks.

It’s basically a calendar application, but I use it to organize my to-do lists, daily must-do, weekly must-do and so on. Using Sunbird, it makes it easier for me to finish up the scheduled tasks first thing first, then work on other less important ones if time permits.

You can get it here:

2) Slickrun

This is one cool gadget I’ve been using for years now.

It’s a simple tool, which sits quietly in a corner of your screen. It gives you almost instant access to any program on your PC or website, using command aliases (known as MagicWords) that you define.

Enter your commonly used web URLs into SlickRun and it will launch your browser and navigate to the specified address. Run multiple programs in a few keystrokes, jot a note, look up a definition.

Simple to use, it’s a real time saver for me to launch frequently-used applications or bring me to a website that I visit often.

Here it is:

I’d love to hear your comments below. If you have useful tools you’d like to share, don’t feel shy to share with the rest of us!

Wishing YOU Success In Life,

Hi Craig,

Nice suggestions. I’ve just downloaded Sunbird. It looks like a very useful app — and I’d never heard of it before.

Thanks.

Hey Wes

I scanned my version of Sunbird with paid version of Zone Alarm anti-virus, and no virus is reported.

Searching around, I found little mention about virus in Sunbird, and some saying it’s probably a false positive.

The support forum for Sunbird is here, also no mention of virus from Sunbird users:

Hope this helps.

Hey Craig.

I keep losing my Sunbird. It doesn’t stay on my taskbar or anywhere. I’ve had to chase it down when I want to use it. I thought it would always be handy. The Slick Run I’m not sure of what it does. Is it the one that just kind of hangs on your website with the date and time and a figure of percentages which keeps changing? If so what do the percentages represent? When I can find Sunbird it’s certainly a great tool. Organization is imperative. Let me know what Slick Run is or does. Thank you.

For Sunbird, it should stay on your task bar, according to your preferences. If it doesn’t work for you, then put a shortcut on your desktop so you can access easily.

Slickrun is kind of a shortcut launcher. I mainly use it for 2 purposes: 1) To launch my software e.g. FTP software, MS Paintbrush etc. In fact any software that sits on my PC. 2) To go straight to a website that I visit often e.g. Adsense account, PPC accounts, my favorite news website etc.

The little box (you can move that around) that sits at a corner on your desktop is where you enter the MagicWords so you can effectively launch your browser or your software (e.g. Sunbird) with a single keystroke or more. The percentage (it’s your notebook battery power level) can be turned off under Setup.
