How To Explode Your Traffic With Your Ads In Any Competitive Market

One of the things I love to do and I reckon you should do too is to TEST.

I could never be where I am without testing the effectiveness of my Ads.

If you look around, you’ll see billions of dollars spent on Ads every year…

Billboards, Infomercial, Television, Pay Per Click, Pay Per View, etc. etc.

When I look at most of the Ads, I can only shake my head on how many useless Ads are being placed out there (which is great for those providing the advertising medium and for those who really knows “marketing”).

One of the most important questions that is constantly at the top of my cranium before I spend a single nickel on advertising, is how can I maximize my response rate.

If you’re driving traffic with Adwords to build your list, you will want to maximize the effectiveness of your Ads to generate more click-throughs so as to build a list quickly and increase your click-through rate.

(Increasing click-through rate will eventually also reduce your cost per click)

Likewise, if you’re paying monthly to place Banner Ads on websites, you want to capture the attention of every visitor and channel them into your website.

If you look into the most competitive markets today like Weight Loss, Beauty, Wealth Creation and related markets, you’ll instantly notice one common thing when it comes to advertising (especially PPC):

Outrageous Promises In Your Headlines…”

Seems like everyone is trying to compete who has the most flatulent Ad without getting their pants on fire with the FTC

If you want maximum traffic with minimum input for your traffic…and if you want to double, triple or quadruple your traffic from the same advertising effort, here are some killer ways to do it:

Look at any competitor’s Ads or products and implement the followingunderground tactics:

1) Beware Of Wolves

This is every effective because humans are just natural skeptics. We’ve been told since young not to easily trust anyone. Even such notions are subtly being embedded into childhood stories like the “Little Red Riding Hood“.

So here’s how you can profit from this

Eg. your competitors say “Make Massive Money Using The Internet In 30 Days

You say “Warning!!! Free Report Reveals 7 Ways How Scammers Are Scamming People Who Are Looking To Make Money Online!

You can almost guarantee they will want to know before they get scammed…again it’s just human nature…a self protective mechanism…or you can be…

2) Larger Than Life

This technique is used to visually magnify the headline or benefit of the product….metaphors are usually used in this kind of headline in Ads.

Eg. your competitors say “Make Massive Money Using THe Internet In 30 Days

You say “How To Create An Avalanche Of Cash Like An Unstoppable Torrent In Just 30 Days

Notice I use the word “Avalanche”. When you think of Avalanche, what do you think of?
A MASSIVE Flood Of Snow?

Unstoppable Torrent…think Tsunami, Hurricane…dramatize it…

Dramatizing does have a limit and could wear off after sometime and when you can’t WOW them, you better learn how to use the next sneaky tactic…

 3) The Mysterious Mechanics

Have you ever watched a magic show and go “Hmm…how did the Magician turn an Ordinary Hat into a Pigeon?”

Well the “Hat” is the Mysterious Mechanism.

Likewise, eg. “How You Can Use The Ancient Roman Banking Secrets To Create An Avalanche of Cash On The Internet..GUARANTEED!

Guess which is the mysterious mechanics? Yupz, the “Ancient Roman Banking Secret”

The Mysterious Mechanics Method works like magic and will make those looking at your
Ad so curious, they’ll crawl over broken glass just to find out and if that’s not enough, there’s the ShowHand when all else fails…

4) Prove It To Me, Baby…

This kind of headlines hinges on authority figure as element of proof and credibilty.

It assumes the existence of such a secret because of e.g. Donald Trump…

“The Exploitative Marketing Secret Donald Trump Prayed The “Small Players” Would Never Discover And Use Against Him”

or “What Do Doctors REALLY Do When They Are Struck With Acne Problems?”

So there you have it….four most powerful “Heavyweight” methods to creating attention-commanding Ads that will guarantee to help you break the bank and end your marketing dry spell.

Having shared with you these, there isn’t much value in just reading and not applying it.

So here’s what I’m going to do to motivate you to apply and get your brain pumping….

I’m giving out Free Money…Yes you heard it right..Free Money50 bucks to the one who creates the best headline (I know 50 bucks is cheap thrill, but hey I’m paying to motivate you to apply what you’ve just learnt…plus a surprise bonus (hint:CJ+$$$$$).

Before you start firing your bullets, just hang in there for a moment.

Here’s what you need to do in the comments below:

Tell us what kind of products you’re promoting and if you could just mention the product, it would be great….followed by your headline, and explain why your headline is great.

(Don’t attempt to get backlinks with your own urls, every comment is moderated…cheaters or scammers will be castrated ! :=o)

Show the world what you’ve got, have lotsa fun…

Ready, On Your Mark, Go…

Wishing YOU Success In Life,
Craig Johnson

Excellent article about a challenging aspect of internet marketing. You have provided some useful tips for creating better headlines.

My business is Voodoo dolls. I am an artist and writer with a flourishing internet business in this niche – one I started to help pay my way through graduate school.

Here is my headline for an ebook I am about to release:

STOP flushing your money down the drain with bogus hocus pocus… Voodoomama “Tells All” in 2008!!

Thanks again for the great post!

Denise Alvarado Says:

I forgot to mention why I think my headline is great for selling my Voodoo Hoodoo Spellbook:

STOP flushing your money down the drain with bogus hocus pocus… Voodoomama “Tells All” in 2008!!

I think it is a catchy play on words that will grab the attention of those who have been scammed by charlatans, followed by anticipation for knowledge by an authority on the subject – one who will set the record straight.

Thanks again and sorry for the second post :)

I’m promoting a site that creates automated Wordpress posts for you. It combs the net and youtube for content and videos to create a truly unique niche blog.

The headline I used was “Help, My Blog is Posting on Itself!”

This headline, in my opinion, is unique because it contains none of the words that we are used to seeing in common headlines such as “Secrets”, “gurus”, “reveals”, or asks questions starting with phrases like “How would you like…” Instead of the useless marketing tactics that we see in email headlines all the time (listdotcom members, you know what I’m talking about), the headline I used was slightly corny, but somewhat humourous and lighthearted and also attention-grabbing because of it’s oddness.

btw I hope I didn’t offend anyone :P

Hi,
Thanks for a no-nonsense post.

I am promoting WEB 2.0 products.

My headline:

“How to Get Free & Easy Web Traffic to Any Site using the Power of Web 2.0″

I think the headline is great because:

a) It’s a “How to”
b) It mentions “Free & Easy”
c) It’s about “Web Traffic” – everybody needs it.
d) It has a “Power” keyword.
e) It’s about “Web 2.0″ the latest and greatest way to get website traffic.

I am seeking support in all aspects including donations as there will be no charge only help in return if willing.
The figures are unbelievable of single parents who will be the major user.
At present I have my home on the market to start off Grandma’s Place and I need a lot more funds, Ideas, suggestions, and anything else that anyone can think of.
All bar the finishing legal’s are done.

I created a private online course showing my “students” exactly how, in step-by-step fashion, I develop and research new product ideas, then develop and sell the new products.

For the headline I used:

“Announcing a Never-Before-Seen Opportunity”

…it worked like a charm, I sold the class out in a very short time. It worked because everyone was curious to see what the never before seen opportunity was. Once they started reading my sales copy, BOOM…I filled the preset number of students I wanted to have in short order, and “tuition” wasn’t cheap.

Simple, effective, and it doesn’t set off anyone’s BS detector.

Otto Schulze Says:

Effective attraction of customer interest results from an approach that makes a believable offer that is very clearly articulated with language that communicates a high return on investment, a price that is provably fair, and that it meets the prospect’s needs in every way.

The average consumer does not appreciate hype in any form. State the facts clearly, distinctly, and serve their needs and you will continue to have prosperity. Read your offer with a skeptic’s mind. Then ask yourself if you can picture people buying into the message and the product. This process will guide you into making the proper offer.

Examples of headlines that do not work:

Make money overnight without working!!

Picture an avalanche of cash falling into your lap. $20 and it’s yours!

The above headlines turn people off because they are provably false and make it obvious that the offer is just a scam that is seen as an unethical method of extracting cash from their wallets.

I think helping you avoid stupid headlines that destroy credibility in the eyes of visitors of your web-site is a noble venture. Thank you for your attention, sir.

All the best,
Otto Schulze
