We’ve Got A Winner - Best Headline Contest

Thanks to all who participated in the best headline contest (see my preceding blog post “How To Explode Your Traffic With Your Ads In Any Competitive Market“).

You’ve shown the world what you’ve got, and it’s exciting to see a great variety of ideas and headlines.

It was tough for me to go through all the headlines to decide which is the best, as there are some really good ones.

I have selected one headline which I deem to be the best, and it’s the entry submitted by Scott Paton (comment 580 of previous blog post).

The winning entry for the deserving $50 is:

Put Your PPC Campaigns on Autopilot so You Can Go Play Madden Football, Travel the World 1st Class and Live the Life of Luxury!

Congrats Scott!

It’s always arguable whether you should hype up your headline, or for every word to remain true to the bone.

Hype sells, and that’s an age-old fact.

I say strike a balance - use exciting words to spice it up, but avoid over-hype. Your headline must sound believable, exciting, and must not mis-represent.

Like I mention in my previous post, you need to test and refine and test and refine…

Only then will you have a winning headline.

    Hi Craig

    Thanks!

It’s an honor to be chosen.

I also think it is important in a headline to hit ‘hot buttons’. In this case, I thought the prospects wanted the good life, but also were a little younger than me (I am 52) and would prefer playing Madden to working…

    Thanks again
